There’s no denying that Bookworm Gardens is full of beautiful plants, displays, and sculptures based upon children’s literature. But one sculpture in particular is more than meets the eye. A whimsical turtle resting on a tree stump is featured in the new “Water Is Water” display. The tree stump cleverly serves as part of the overflow structure for a new raingarden/biofilter system designed by Donohue to collect stormwater, promote infiltration, and improve water quality.

Three years of planning and six months of construction are condensed down to 30 seconds of time-lapse footage of the new 2-million-gallon water storage tank in O’Fallon, Missouri. Earlier this year, construction crews descended upon O’Fallon’s water treatment plant to build a glass-lined steel tank.

The pure joy of playing on a playground is something every child deserves the opportunity to experience. Thanks to the vision of Kenosha resident Tammy Conforti, children of all abilities will soon have an inclusive accessible playground in the Kenosha community. Through a partnership with the Kenosha Achievement Center and the City of Kenosha Common Council, plans for the “Dream Playground Project” were set into motion during the summer of 2012.

Since the facility was constructed in 1954, it has gone through several upgrades, the most recent of which was the result of a complete facility plan and upgrade design led by Donohue & Associates. The extensive project assessed the facility’s existing treatment processes to determine the best-suited and most economical course of action.

Team Donohue Participates in The Salvation Ride

When our engineers aren’t busy in the office designing solutions for our clients, they are out and about giving back to the communities we serve. Most recently, a team consisting of five Donohue employees plus three of their friends and spouses took on the challenge of bicycling up to 62.5 miles to benefit the Sheboygan Area Salvation Army. The members of Team Donohue were Tammy Kuehlmann, TJ Bates, Amanda Kinney, Nic and Amber Marzahl, Eric Lynne, and Chris and Wendy Raisbeck (with Aiden and Elliot). Donohue is proud to support our staff members in events such as this and we look forward to participating for many years to come!
